I have not posted any actual writings on this blog since April 26. Wow. We'll call that a fail. Hmmm...well. I'm an actress now? Quit the steady paycheck and benefits for unemployment and odd hours. I just closed my first show and am currently working on another one that i despise for the next 6 or so fridays of my life. my brother is getting married in two weeks, and i went on one of the world's worst internet dates. probably not one of the worst, he wasn't an ax murderer or a spitter or a rapist. ::shudder::, he could've been a spitter...
so that's what's new-ish over here. but pretty much everyone who reads this already knows all of that. i just recently got over the plague. tuesday after the inception premiere i felt kind of funny. almost a little wheezy. the weird way i was describing it to people was that it felt like my swallow point was in my chest instead of in my throat. woke up wednesday and registered for central with some girls from the vampire show, felt pretty sluggish and the weird feeling had intensified. went home after lunch and took a 5 hour nap, woke up feeling like le poop, but drove to santa monica for a softball game i had committed to. they FINALLY let me play first base when i have the plague. anyway. thursday was spent sleeping for approximately 18 hours on and off throughout the day. andy came over to fix my internet that night and i slept through most of it sweating like a whore in church due to the fever. i haven't felt that awful in a long time. friday was slightly better and i gave a HORRENDOUS performance of vampire witch that night. i would croak my way through the scenes, then run off stage to have a coughing fit. so classy.
anyway. almost back to 100% which is good since i'm supposed to make an attempt at climbing mt. whitney this weekend. fingers crossed. it would be an overnight hike, so i have some small semblance of a chance of making it. hopefully the altitude is not my downfall like last time.
i also got my bangs cut yesterday. or should i say i had them hacked. apparently side sweep bangs to this girl meant short-ass blunt cut. they are horrid. luckily, i planned ahead and had all of my pre-wedding grooming done two weeks in advance to work out any possible tragedies/kinks before it's too late. so hopefully two weeks of growth will allow my bangs to look marginally better. i'm really excited for the wedding. i had my fitting a couple of weeks ago and the dress looks like it'll be really cute. i'm having a tough time picking out jewelery though. the shoes are bronze which complicates things a bit. gold looks too close to it, but not quite, so it looks weird. and silver just looks way weird with it. i found some bronze jewelery by fossil, but i've been getting mixed reactions on it. bleh. it's difficult since i won't have the dress until like 2 days before, but i need to have everything in place before then.
an audition story for all of you. i had an audition on sunday out in santa monica off the 10. i allotted an hour of travel time, but kept hitting snooze. so i had 40 min of travel time. unfortunately, it was a gorgeous day, so everyone and their mother was trying to get to santa monica. i was freaking out on the 405 because i had like 5 min to get there and i ended up arriving at the complex like 10 min late. then once i got there the complex was HUGE and i had to drive around a bit until i could find someone (since it was sunday)to ask where auditions were. i finally get there and i'm a hot mess and i'm like i'm so sorry, i'm late! the lady goes "which director are you here for?" so i tell her and she says "oh...she's not here yet, let me call her". ::big sigh of relief:: so i sit down and get situated and about 5 minutes later someone asks me who i'm waiting for and upon my response, looks worried and leaves. about 10 minutes later, (by now it's like 25 min past my audition time)a gentleman comes down and says "she's run into some personal problems, could you come back on wednesday at 10:20am?". i was like uuuuuh....not really. i did not just spend an hour getting out here and stressing the fuck out only to be asked to do it AGAIN in morning rush hour. epic fail. one of the other directors eventually swooped in and offered to do my audition on tape so that i wouldn't have to come back. lucky me! i kicked ass on the audition too. too bad they didn't hire me. HAH. god i love this business. ::sigh::
anyway. that's your update for now. and i just ate a salad bowl full of cap'n crunch. nom nom nom.
