so for some reason the last few days, my shoulders were like cinder blocks. i couldn't relax them, they were all up by my ears. it was very quasimodo. not cute. so yesterday my plans did not materialize and i didn't push it because i looked like i should be off ringing bells. so i booked myself a massage! i can't really afford it, but i viewed it as a sort of doctor's appointment. so i had this tiny little asian woman as my "therapist" and i explained that i would prefer she stick to neck/back instead of full body because i was really tense and getting headaches. so she says "can i do head too?" (::snicker::) to which i was like "sure, why not".
well let me preface a few things. i hate dainty massages. i always get deep tissue massages because i've never had a regular one that felt good. i don't want to be rubbed, i want to be massaged. well this was the first person i ever had to say less pressure to. jesus christo man! i think she was super strong and i was super tense, but oh holy lord am i sore today. and at one point it felt like she was poking my brain. true story. when i said i was having headaches she got all up in the base of my skull and i thought my head was going to explode. when i was seeing the chiropractor last year she would do that too to release the tension. so you see like every color of the rainbow and stars and color bursts of pain, and then everything goes quiet. pain before pleasure i guess? this is getting dirty. moving on.
the point is that i'm very sore today. but it's good. i'd rather be looser and sore (dirty again!) than all crazy tense and hunchy. another funny thing was that as soon as she started massaging my back she paused and goes "oh...you work with computers". and i was like whaa? yes. yes i do. and at the end she was massaging my face and there was a KNOT in my JAW! she literally stopped and went "oh...". so i guess the clicking/popping is there for a reason. bygones.
anyway. i then went home, took a bath, and went to bed. no dinner, no tv. nothin'. it was lovely actually. woke up at 4 for the earthquake, and then went back to bed. all in all a nice, subdued night. unlike kellie who was plotting murders at work and texting me gems like "stabbing stab stabbity stab stab, stab, stab, stab". that one was my favorite. TOMORROW IS ST. PATRICK'S DAY! HUZZAAAAAAAAAAH!
