This is long and in 2 parts, read at your own risk.

So a week ago sunday i was playing softball and i pretty much sprained my foot in the region of the arch/inside ankle. you know how sometimes you go to step and before you put all your weight down, it just feels weird? like if you follow through with this step, it's not going to feel good. well during softball, i was on first and the guy behind me hit it to the fences, so i had to motor. while rounding second my foot felt a little off but i couldn't stop so i just went on my toes. while rounding third, it all came full circle, i put all my weight on it, and it felt like a pop. i rubbed it out and it felt kind of weird, but mostly fine the rest of the game. i continued on with my day and as the day went on, it started to feel more tender, and by the end of the day i was limping and icing it. well monday i woke up and couldn't walk on it. so i was pathetically limping/hopping to my car to get to work. i kept it elevated/iced and made an appointment to see my doctor. tuesday it felt much better and the limp was minimal but i still went to the doc. he took x-rays, everything looked copacetic, and sent me home with an anti-inflammatory. thurs and friday i was walking normally, but carefully because there was an occasional twinge. saturday was cool, i took the puppy for a walk. i played softball on it yesterday and kept it wrapped. it felt a little weird in the game, and after my first at bat i switched over to having someone run for me. now it's all tweaky! i can walk, but it does not feel bueno and i have a tendency to put my weight on the outside of my foot. i have a follow up appointment with my doctor on wed. he said to cancel it if i feel fine, otherwise he'd refer me to a foot doctor. i think i just tried to do too much on a sprain before i was ready so i don't know if i want to go back just yet. it's a $20 copay for the appt and who knows what for a specialist. perhaps i'll wait it out a week and see what's what. but who really cares about my foot? moving on!

i scheduled my headshots for wednesday May 5th at 1:30pm! Huzzah! I'm excited and nervous.

fun story about last night. it was exercise night in class. i've never been to one of these before so i wasn't sure what to expect. the first two were improv based. one was to create a monologue based on a specific opening line. the second was to portray a specific character while answering questions from the class, and then we had to guess what the character was. i obvs love improv so i volunteered to go next. my instructions were to "do a contemporary monologue". well i assumed that meant make up a contemporary monologue so i did. i just started talking and it ended up being about a girl who gets stood up by the same guy every thursday night at the same restaurant. i kept waiting for him to end it and be like "ok good" but he wasn't. so i kept talking. it went on forever. ugh. eventually he cut me off. like EIGHT MINUTES LATER. i don't know if that's true, it just felt like forever. anyway. it turns out he meant to do a prepared monologue, like for auditions. well i don't have one of those yet. and the others were so improv based i just assumed...anyway. he asked a question that finally made it all click and i explained that i had in fact just made that up, it wasn't a real monologue. and he was genuinely surprised which was nice. he said i was funny and smart a "money player" which means i work well under pressure. he also said i should write. it's funny, i've always felt really inadequate at writing material when you put me in front of a computer. but if you just tell me to talk, it's so much easier. so i'm thinking that i'm going to get a recorder and just do monologues/scenes that way. anyway. overall, it was just a really good time for all of that to happen. it's the first time he's seen me be funny (or the class for that matter), it's the first time he's seen me do improv, and i feel like he's more aware of what i want to do and what i'm good at. it was nice to have that validation too, especially considering i'm taking the plunge, it's nice to have that confidence boost. plus, a bunch of my classmates complimented me and it made me feel lovely. so that's nice :0)

also, in honor of today, i'm very excited for my favorite pair of BC's. yaaaaaay!

You're funny. That's why we keep you around :)

I hope your foot feels better, but maybe you should go while you still have coverage.

I think your humor is so advanced that everyone doesn't get it immediately and then later on: BAM! FUNNY! But you're never there for the moment of laughter. So I figure every time this happens, I'll let you know.
